Huh...kind of interesting. To tell you the truth, if I had the money to do that, I would...do somehthing completely different with it.
Sounds like they have enough money that this is just a side project. It says he already owns another castle.
That looks like a really fun job.
thought this was interesting, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science_and_ ... 461066.stm
15m shark vs 17m whale with gigantic teeth... would've been one hell of a fight.
I remember watching a show about this a few years ago on the history channel, I think. Pretty damn cool. From what I remember, they estimated it at about a 30-year project when they started.
That's pretty damn sweet. Wouldn't be surprised if it ended up in some movie scenes in the future. Then again, with all the hard work put into it maybe they wouldn't want film crews trouncing around possibly causing damage to the place.

Monkey eating herpies of South America. Looks like a pretty cool program, they follow a chick being raised for a year. A really rare bird, it's amazing the footage they got.
I was completely confused by that line until I clicked on the link.
llll I wouldn't be surprised seeing the weird shit coming out of Brazil
More on the Blizzard revealing real names thing.
I suspect Blizzard will back off. They currently have the most profitable MMO on the planet...but this could be a game killer.
I like this part...

They have already caved on this, must have been pretty unpopular to say the least if they have already changed their mind.
The guy who made the Segway is also working on a new prosthetic limb system that I believe was contracted by the military not so long ago to create something that soldiers could use when coming home from war.
Considering the huge outcry, not just from WoW forum people, don't see how they could've gone through with it anyway.
Yup. Not at all surprised.
I originally wanted to go into that when I go to grad school, but I heard that they already made it, and are developing [for the lack of a better term] an exoskeleton. So now I'm all about robotics[I prefer "puppets"]/nanotechonolgy.
They way they described it seemed to be the way I was going to go about this as well, of course with some major differences. I was planning on either electronic or light based chips attached to various parts of the body, like the spine if they're missing the whole arm, which reads the signals that would go to the missing arm -based off of studies that I'm not sure have been done so far- and would require intensive surgery. Plus if EM radiation isn't viable then it would've involved lots of wires and could have been a mess.
From what it looks like, the hand just snaps in, which is pretty impressive. I wonder if they're planning on upgrading the hand to also feed signals to the brain [ie: This is hot, I'm breaking/snagged on something]
