Dear Community. Before we move on to the open beta and then release shortly after, we need your help with a massive initial stress test early next week.
We will be releasing a new patch shortly before that - the stress test will run with that new version.
We need as many players online as possible for us to get some core data that will determine quite a few important steps we'll have to take.

EVERYBODY will be able to participate in that test.

UPDATE: STRESS TEST TONIGHT, 20th of January , at 21.30 gmt +1.

Every registered account will be able to log in around 20:30 to take some stress of the login server and give you guys a better chance to spread out in the world.
DON'T form large player clusters please - we need to test ALL the nodes at once.

Login is now OPEN for everybody!

Not only current beta testers. During the test, which will last for about 1-2 hours, everybody who set up an account using the shop page (completing step 1) will be able to participate.

This will not be an "entertainment" event, which doesn't mean it won't be fun.

Our friend and member Amra the Lion, has started a petition over at his home site AmratheLion.com to make an appeal to paradox in response to the Conan movie plot synopsis released to the public and featured on Deadcentral.com in November. We here at the SHC unanimously support this petition to have Paradox change plans for the upcoming movie and feel that it is a shame that the production company feels that such a shallow plot and character list would actually be better for a movie than a story and roster that honors and follows closely the vision of Robert E. Howard.

Simply stated, Paradox has the choice of making a movie no one would want to see or making and epic Conan movie on par with the Lord of the Rings series. Hopefully this petition can guide them into the right direction. There is an active discussion regarding this topic our media forum, please sign in to participate and be sure head on over to Amra's site to sign the petition!

Hey guys,

As you may or may not know, Legion in Flames is in the process of moving to their own private Forums & ventrilo server. With that said, I decided to put it out there than on the Snowhawk side nothing plans to change. Your [Members of Legion] permissions and ability to use our ventrilo & forums will not change, and those of you who wish to continue participating on these forums or wish to use the Ventrilo server may do so as many of you are good friends and de facto guildmates.

The Snowhawk Clan is a group of friends with no particular MMORPG focus currently, and as such we’re just going with the flow pretty casually. So, just to reiterate, if you’ve been hanging around, your welcome to continue to do so regardless of what the future holds. :beer4:

Funcom's task in expanding Age of Conan - with Rise of the Godslayer, revealed for the first time at gamescom this week - is even more difficult than most. Here is a game that was considered unfinished at launch, stretched far too thin over its 80 levels, and despite some admirable efforts to flesh it out in recent updates it's still a little on the slender side. In this case, the standard tactic of layering more of the same on top with a raised level cap won't cut it. In fact, it would just make matters worse.

It's to Funcom's credit, then, that its developers have realised this and thought laterally. There's no raised level cap in Rise of the Godslayer. There is a new continent, the Asian-themed Khitai (which comes with a new player race, the Khitan), but it contains lower-level content - for level 20 up - as well as a high-level challenge. There are no new classes, and no more levels, but there is an alternate advancement system that will broaden the range of each existing class as well as increase its power. There...

Following the request received by many players, there is now a new option available that allows players to permanently rename one of their Age of Conan characters. The service is priced at 10 US$ per change and it can be found on the account webpage at http://register.ageofconan.com.

The way this works is that players will buy 'Service Points' which can then be used on paid services. As the character name change option is the first one available at the moment, this is the only option the Service Points can be used for. But additional services will follow soon and be added to the list.

Players who play Funcom's MMORPG Anarchy Online can use any available 'Service Points' from there also on Age of Conan offers and options.

Once the character name change option is selected in the account page it will take up to one hour for the order to be processed. After this time the player will be asked to rename the character on the next logon with that character into the game.

The new name must start with an uppercase letter, the remaining letters must be lowercase and it is important to follow the rules of conduct when creating a new name.

I remember when UO started these little pay-for services... rename character, char...
