Hey all.

It's been a long time since I read Conan now, but just the other day I started thinking about a quote that I think is Conan's. The problem is I can't find it. It goes something like this:

"Out of a hundred men on a battlefield, 90 are there just to die and 9 are there to fight. Only is there to [...]"

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Was just about to post that but Saneo beat me too it. It seems like it was in a movie recently but I can't remember which one.

It's a Greek philosopher from 500bc, so not from the Conan stories.

Did they paraphrase it in the movie "300", then? I'm pretty sure I've read that somewhere or maybe heard it from a movie.

I think HappyWlad had it in his signature way back, that may have been where it got associated with Conan.
I think it popped up in David Gemmel's "Troy" series too (good read btw), but I'm fairly sure it wasn't in 300.
